At My Eczema Expert, we understand how overwhelming it can be to live with eczema — whether it’s affecting you or your child. Getting the right help quickly can often feel impossible. We were founded after hearing from countless people who told us how hard it is to access timely, specialist care through the current NHS system. Many faced long delays unnecessary discomfort, and a lack of clear guidance — even though effective, evidence-based treatments are available. Our goal is to bridge that gap and provide professional, compassionate support when it’s needed most. Through personalised consultations, we help both adults and families feel in control, confident, and equipped to manage eczema more effectively.
Meet Nicola Cottom, Founder of My Eczema Expert 👩‍⚕️
Nicola Cottom is an award-winning Dermatology Specialist Nurse, a mum of two, and a nanna to one lovely grandson — all of whom live with eczema. This unique combination of professional expertise and personal experience means Nicola truly understands the emotional and practical day-to-day challenges families face when living with or caring for a child with eczema. With over 20 years of clinical experience of treating eczema, involvement in dermatology research and providing patient and professional education, Nicola has dedicated her career to supporting families and improving care for those living with skin conditions. She is a qualified nurse prescriber and holds the honorary title of Queen’s Nurse, recognising her exceptional contribution to dermatology care and education. Nicola is passionate about making evidence-based advice and treatments accessible for parents, patients, and fellow professionals — helping everyone feel more confident in managing eczema.
